Staff of Hamble Heights care home in Southampton experience what it feels like to have Dementia.
Hamble Heights, the leading care home in the Southampton region from Tender LifeCare, invited staff members to take part in the Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT). Run by Training 2 CARE UK Ltd, the organisation of evidenced-based training to care providers, 12 staff members from Hamble Heights took the first steps into truly understanding how Dementia feels for a person living with the condition.
We’d like our residents and their friends and families to enter a competition to help us name the Hamble Heights chicks after famous actresses from the movies…!

There are lots of exciting activities happening at Hamble Heights this month, including sing-alongs, a classical guitarist and a miniature donkey!
We celebrated Iris Mary Goodall’s 100th birthday on Saturday 21st March with a party of her family and friends, plus a very special guest – the Mayor of Fareham.
This week features an array of activities and entertainment arranged by our Activity Coordinator, Vanessa.
At Hamble Heights, we think it’s imperative that our residents have to opportunity to stay active and have fun. Vanessa plans a range of engaging daily activities – whether group or one-to-one – we try to tailor activities to residents’ interests.
