Healthcare Positions

Our Healthcare Assistants are fundamental in the care we deliver and the wellbeing of our residents.

At Encore Care Homes, we provide specialist care and support to older people – delivering nursing, dementia, residential, respite and palliative care. We are currently expanding and looking for experienced carers who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of our residents.

Healthcare Roles

Carers, or Healthcare Assistants (HCAs), assist in the delivery of care, which is planned and assessed by Senior Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses by directly providing practical, physical, social, and emotional care.  HCAs support all residents in a manner that is sensitive to each individual’s needs and wishes; acknowledging their rights and respecting their beliefs at all times.

  • You will provide and deliver a high standard of care (i.e. washing, mouth care, toileting, manual handling and mobility), recognising and meeting the specific needs of residents.
  • You will work with indirect supervision, to manage your own clinical workload within the given competencies of the post.
  • When required and once fully trained, you will assist with administrating prescribed medication and accurately complete Medication Administration Records (MAR charts).
  • You will also need to communicate with family, friends and other healthcare professionals on the resident’s behalf.

Senior Healthcare Assistants also perform the above duties, but they have a lead role in planning the shift and acting as a role model in the delivery of best practice; supporting less experienced members of staff to provide the best care to residents.  As a Senior HCA, you will also be required to assist the nurse with medication administration.

Care Practitioners work under the direction of the registered nurse, always benefiting from their guidance, supervision, and support, but you are also able to lead the care in your allocated area effectively and independently.  You will ideally have training and experience in clinical observations, as well as training in basic life support, basic wound care, catheter and continence care.

You will be making a real difference to the quality of life that our residents enjoy; providing the care that gives them dignity and comfort, and the social and emotional support that sees them flourish and make the most of everyday.

Up to £40 Shift Bonus* for every additional full shift

We know that receiving care from a permanent team is best for our residents.  It provides them with stability, familiarity, and consequently, they feel more at home.

Therefore, when you become a member of the Encore care team, we offer you the chance to take on extra shifts and be rewarded for doing so.

Care Practitioner £40 Shift Bonus for every additional 12.5-hour shift.  £16 Shift Bonus for every additional 6.5-hour shift.

Healthcare Assistant£30 Shift Bonus for every additional 12-hour shift.  £12 Shift Bonus for every additional 6-hour shift.

You earn more money, and our residents receive the best care and companionship!

The more additional shifts you volunteer to take on, the more opportunities you will have to earn more money, which in turn, will boost your career development and progression.

We also want to encourage ‘keeping it in the Encore family’.  If you take a Bonus Shift at one of our other care homes that is not your permanent base, we will also pay your milage at 25p per mile.
