Healthcare Positions

Our Healthcare Assistants are fundamental to providing the care we deliver and the wellbeing of our residents.

At Encore Care Homes, we provide specialist care and support to older people – delivering nursing, dementia, residential, respite and palliative care. Whether you are an experienced carer, or you are new to the care sector, we are looking for kind, caring, and committed people to join the Encore team.

Healthcare Roles

Healthcare Assistants (HCAs)

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of care, which is planned and assessed by Senior Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses, by directly providing practical, physical, social, and emotional care. HCAs support all residents with sensitivity and respect for each individual’s needs and wishes, and are often asked to communicate with family, friends and other healthcare professionals on the resident’s behalf.

  • Provide and deliver a high standard of care (i.e. washing, mouth care, toileting, manual handling & mobility), recognising and meeting the specific needs of each resident.
  • Support residents who may have a wide range of differing requirements and whose needs may range from companionship and domestic support to personal care.
  • Write and maintain accurate records of care on a daily basis, maintaining fluid balance and dietary charts and recognising, recording and reporting all adverse findings to nurses.
  • Join and assist in hobbies or crafts, daily Wellbeing activities and home events, to engage with residents and help them to enjoy every day.

Senior Healthcare Assistants

This role performs the same duties as an HCA, but they have a lead role in planning the shift and acting as a role model in the delivery of best practice; supporting less experienced members of staff to provide the best care to residents. As a Senior HCA, you will also be required to assist the nurse with medication administration.

Care Practitioners

Work under the direction of the registered nurse, always benefiting from their guidance, supervision, and support, but you are also able to lead the care in your allocated area effectively and independently. You will ideally have training and experience in clinical observations, as well as training in basic life support, basic wound care, catheter and continence care.

You will be making a real difference to the quality of life that our residents enjoy; providing the care that gives them dignity and comfort, and the social and emotional support that sees them flourish.
