Enjoy spooky crafts and live music at Christchurch care home’s autumn open day

We are throwing the doors open at our Christchurch care home, Fairmile Grange this weekend for our special autumn-themed open day featuring live music, crafts, and fancy dress.

Visitors will be able to take a tour of the facilities at our Christchurch-based care home, off Royal Close, on Saturday 30 October during a range of bookable slots from 12pm to 5pm. Families will be able to enjoy live music, Halloween arts and crafts, and a children’s fancy dress competition with a judging panel of residents during the event, which will enable people to find out more about the care services available for their loved ones.

Our team can provide dedicated care for residential, nursing, dementia and Alzheimer’s, palliative, and respite care home residents.

Appointments must be booked in advance for the open day as part of enhanced Covid-safe protocols put in place for the benefit of visitors, residents, and our team.

Visitors will be able to learn more about the activities organised for our residents to benefit their physical, emotional, and holistic wellbeing. A Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, pizza making, manicures, flower arranging, music and movement, and pumpkin decorating are just a few of the activities that our Wellbeing team has organised recently to entertain the residents.

Earlier this year, our team also fundraised to purchase a fully-stocked bar for our residents to use on a daily basis, as well as for special occasions such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and other celebrations.

Kim Butters, Wellbeing Manager, said: “The activities and the wellbeing that we offer at Fairmile Grange are so important. It’s such a key part of the residents’ everyday lives and it’s become vital in our care homes.

She added: “The thing that I love most about my job is making a difference in people’s lives and enhancing their day-to-day life. We feel really honoured to be part of their lives and are very proud of what we do and to make every day that little bit better for our residents.”

Each of our care homes features a dedicated onsite Wellbeing team that organises a daily programme of activities that is tailored to the residents’ interests with special themed events organised to mark national awareness days.

We are currently running a promotion for permanent bookings, which enables residential residents to receive two weeks of care for free to allow them to experience the facilities, home-cooked meals, and activities for themselves.

To book an appointment, visit our Fairmile Grange’s Halloween-themed open day page or call the care home on 01202 082 722.
