What a Difference a Day Makes

We want to make everyday extraordinary for our residents.  So it was wonderful to have such lovely feedback from Jean, the daughter of our new Day Breaks resident, Ron Gadsby.

Day Breaks

Ron, aged 95, is going to be visiting Great Oaks every Thursday.  Yesterday was his first visit and although a little tentative and apprehensive at first, it wasn’t long before Ron felt comfortable and had settled in.

In fact, during a musical performance by Pianist, Mark Busell, and singer, Sue Scott, Ron took to the dance floor to show us all how it’s done!  Whilst Ron thoroughly enjoyed the dancing, it also brought a tear to his eye as he reminisced about his late wife, Catherine.

Making a Difference

The following day, Ron’s daughter Jean dropped a card into Great Oaks to thank the staff and residents for making Ron’s day so enjoyable:

“Just a note to say, many thanks again for making my dad (Ron) so welcome yesterday.  He had a wonderful time making new friends in such delightful surroundings. It was a real treat for him and he can’t wait to visit you all again next Thursday!”
