What a Difference a Day Makes

We want to make everyday extraordinary for our residents.  So it was wonderful to have such lovely feedback from Jean, the daughter of our new Day Breaks resident, Ron Gadsby.

Dementia Awareness Week

This year during Dementia Awareness Week, the Alzheimer’s Society is encouraging anyone who worried about dementia to confront their concerns and get in touch.  At Hamble Heights, we have been raising the profile of Dementia Awareness Week within the care home in our own way by creating a music video….!

Sweets for my sweet…

Hamble Heights has its very own traditional sweet shop cart!  Filled with classic sweets such as Jelly Beans, Lemon Sherbets and Dolly Mixtures, the fabulous new candy cart has been loving restored and re-painted to make a wonderful addition to the home.

Winning Coat of Arms!

The moment we’ve all been waiting for…. the winning Hamble Heights Coat of Arms design has been recreated in wood and is displayed proudly on the wall for residents, staff, families and friends to admire….

The Hamble Heights Coat of Arms

A fantastic activity organised by Vanessa, the Activities Coordinator, has not only encouraged fantastic involvement and enjoyment for the residents but it has also resulted in Hamble Heights creating its very own Coat of Arms AND receiving an Award from Ladder to the Moon….!

Perfect Day

Our continued goal at Hamble Heights is to make every day the PERFECT day for our residents.  As such, on Wednesday 2nd March, we are creating the Perfect Day for each and every resident by making their idea of a the greatest day come true.

Oh yes they did!

The team’s pantomime of Snow White and the 8 Dwarfs Go to the Ball was a super-success yesterday afternoon!  The ‘mash-up’ stories of Snow White and Cinderella were combined to produce a show-stopping performance, which everyone enjoyed – from the residents and their families, to the cast and staff of Hamble Heights!

Clever Cat

Just look how pleased Buddy the Home’s cat is with himself in this photo….

Feeling crafty!

The residents at Hamble Heights have been getting rather crafty lately – making some beautiful greeting cards!
