Mother’s Day celebrations at Great Oaks

The day kicked off with the talented local singer, Rebecca Osborne, who performed a variety of hits from the 40s-60s. This was really popular with many of our residents who enjoyed listening to the music as it reminded them of fond memories from these decades gone by. Some residents even showed off their best dance moves from the different eras.

What Sunday would be complete without a traditional roast dinner? After the excitement of a private concert, our team served a special Mother’s Day roast for all of our residents and their guests. If that wasn’t enough, we then indulged in heart-shaped chocolate cheesecakes, carefully decorated with edible flowers lovingly prepared by our catering team.

Throughout the rest of the afternoon, our lovely residents also learned the craft of flower arranging by making their own beautiful displays.

The day concluded with a relaxed afternoon tea while we created our very own homemade cards for the occasion. There were some touching creations from our talented residents.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the day and attended the special event. This is just one of the many events that we hold throughout the year for our residents and their friends and family. We hope you all had a marvellous Mother’s Day.
