Memory Walk

Team members from Hamble Heights took part in a Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s Society on Saturday.  Memory Walks took place across the country, with thousands of people taking part.

Raising awareness

The Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk promotes awareness about Dementia and raises money to help fund continuous research into this condition.  The Memory Walk is to celebrate and remember loved ones that live or have lived with dementia.  These fun and inclusive walks allow people of all ages to join in; from children to grandparents…and even family pets!

Hamble Heights’ very own team made up of Kathryn, Val, Mel and Susanne, plus friend of Hamble Heights, Lorraine, all took part in the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk on Saturday.  They walked 8 km and completed it in a very respectable time of 1 hour 20 minutes.

Care Home Administrator Kathryn said,

“It was a fantastic day!  The weather was perfect and there was such a brilliant atmosphere, with so many people there, all ready to show their support for loved ones affected by dementia.  It was wonderful to be part of such an important and successful event – and we had really good fun!  We’re so glad to have taken part.”

Well done and thank you, ladies!
