Give back to the community while doing meaningful work as a Healthcare Assistant with Encore Care Homes

Encore is currently recruiting for Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) for its four care homes due to increased demand for care services for older people. The Encore family includes Great Oaks in Bournemouth, Oakdale in Poole, Fairmile Grange in Christchurch and Hamble Heights in Fareham.

The role is suitable for people with a positive, friendly attitude, a caring and empathetic approach to work, and good communication skills. All Encore Care Homes staff will receive a pay rise this month, with pay for HCAs starting at the day rate of £9.50 per hour and goes up to £11.15, depending on shift patterns and qualifications. On top of this, all new HCAs will receive a £1,000 welcome bonus, as well as a shift bonus of £30 for every additional full shift completed above their contracted hours.

New HCAs will be helping residents like Rita Satchwell, who came to Fairmile Grange after being admitted to hospital following a fall. She says that she now cannot imagine being anywhere else as the team enable her maintain her independence while offering a helping hand when she needs it.

Rita said:

“I love it. I’m very happy here and I love the people. The carers are brilliant and they have always got a smile. It’s a lovely place to be. Everyone who works here is very caring and helpful.”

She added:

“I was very apprehensive before I came here because I didn’t know what a care home was going to be like. But I’d only been here a matter of three or four days and I was completely at home. The staff made me feel relaxed. It’s a lovely place and the people who work here are very good.”
