We are thrilled to share that we were listed as a finalist in the prestigious, industry-recognised Care Home Awards 2021.
Some of the team were invited to a glittering lunch and awards ceremony in the National Conference Centre in Birmingham last week for the special event after we were put forward for the ‘Best Response to Covid-19’ category.
On the day, we were up against some brilliant but tough competition and unfortunately, we didn’t walk away with the winner’s trophy on this occasion. However, after such a difficult year of restrictions and changing government guidance, we were thrilled to have made the final shortlist to have our hard work recognised by the Care Home Awards judges.
In our award entry, we highlighted the excellent work that the team put into creating the Visiting Lounges for each of our care homes to combat the negative impact that our residents’ emotional wellbeing would’ve faced without being able to see their loved ones.
As our residents and their loved ones will know, the dedicated spaces feature a floor-to-ceiling Perspex screen to create a Covid-safe space that enables continued face-to-face interaction between residents and their families all year round.
The Visiting Lounges have proved hugely popular with our residents and have seen loved ones visit from as far away as Canada and across the UK to be reunited with our residents while enjoying a much-needed catch-up.
Here’s to next year’s Care Home Awards which will give us another chance to champion our team’s successes!
