Christchurch voted one of the happiest places to live in Britain

The survey by Rightmove looked at factors such as community spirit, affordability, green spaces and amenities, friendliness and culture.

Leigh-on-Sea was crowned the happiest place to live in Britain, with Farnham in Surrey in second place and Monmouth in Wales coming third.

Encore Care Homes Fairmile Grange is situated in Christchurch and takes full advantage of the historic town’s natural beauty with nearby public transport to the quay, beaches and shopping centre. Set back in its own private gardens and adjacent to Christchurch hospital, Fairmile Grange also has a dentist, GP surgery and pharmacy within walking distance.

Muriel Wiggett, registered nurse at Encore Care Homes Fairmile Grange, says: “Being situated in the grounds of Christchurch Hospital, we have got the hospital just opposite us. We are close to the Grove Surgery and we are within ten minutes from Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital.”

Muriel added: “Residents also use the community centre just around the corner and take part in activities– including swimming and other events. We have also got the dentist that’s just across the road. It’s a good community feeling.”
