We made sure that one of our residents was the star of the show at a garden party held in her honour to mark her joining the Hamble Heights Hundred Club.
Frances Miller, who lives at Hamble Heights in Fareham, was joined by her friends, fellow residents, and the care team for the celebrations, at our care home, which is part of Encore Care Homes. Frances also welcomed a host of family to mark the special occasion with a garden party in the garden of our care home.
Frances was thrilled to look through the cards, gifts, champagne and flowers that she had received as presents to congratulate her on reaching her milestone birthday. Frances joins her fellow resident, Joan Mackenzie, who turned 100 in April as the second member of this year’s ‘Hamble Heights Hundred Club’ making them the oldest residents in the care home.
Vanessa Duggan, Wellbeing Manager at Hamble Heights, said: “We had a fantastic time spoiling Frances on her special day as she joined the Hamble Heights Hundred Club. It was lovely to see her surrounded by her family and loved ones who travelled a great distance to be with her on the day.
Vanessa added: “We always like to make our residents feel special on their birthdays as it only comes around once a year and it’s nice for them to be treated like a king or a queen for the day.”
The Encore team provides care for residential, nursing, dementia and Alzheimer’s, palliative, and respite residents. This includes a dedicated Wellbeing team in each care home who are on hand to organise fun activities to support each resident’s physical, emotional, and holistic wellbeing.
As well as Hamble Heights, the Encore Care Homes family includes Great Oaks in Bournemouth, Oakdale in Poole, and Fairmile Grange in Christchurch.
