Encore’s specialist nursing and dementia care home in Fareham, Hamble Heights, first opened in 2013.  To mark the occasion, the home celebrated with a 5th anniversary open day on 17th January.

The event was attended by more than 70 people; including residents, families, team members and local healthcare professionals.  The celebratory day was also open to the community; providing the opportunity to look around the home and meet the care team.

Guests enjoyed live music from professional harpist, Heather Carne, delicious food and drink and a party vibe.  The Deputy Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Mrs Susan Bayford and the Deputy Mayor’s Consort, Councillor Brian Bayford, both attended the celebration to help with a time capsule ceremony.

Five members of staff at Hamble Heights were also commended for 5 years’ service to the company.  Chief Executive of Encore Care Homes, David Hines, presented Amanda Cox (housekeeping), Katherine Karagoz (Registered Nurse), Victoria Taib-Payne (healthcare Assistant), Janet Longland (housekeeping) and Elizabeth Kinyua (Deputy Manager) with a Certificate of Service and a cheque for £500 each in recognition of their dedicated service to Hamble Heights.

The event also gave attendees the opportunity to have a tour of the purpose-built 60-bed care home and its modern facilities; designed to enable staff to provide the highest standard of 24-hour, personalised care and ensure residents are comfortable and happy in their surroundings.

David Hines, chief executive of Encore Care Homes, said:

It has been a fantastic journey with Hamble Heights since we opened in January 2013.  Since this time the home has flourished, as have the residents who live here, thanks to the superb care that they receive from our dedicated and professional care team.  Hamble Heights is rated GOOD by CQC and thanks must go to Home Manager Sebastian and his team.

At Encore we believe it is so important to design, build and manage a care environment which allows our carers and residents to flourish. The design of the building enables us to be able to offer residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care.”

Hamble Heights’ Activities Team has been recognised for its creativity, enthusiasm and dedication in bringing smiles to residents’ faces every day with fun and engaging projects, activities and events.  It was the winner of the regional award for Best Activities Coordinator in The Great British Care Awards.
