We celebrate our care heroes with long service awards

It’s been a tough few months for everyone living through the lockdown, but our team at Hamble Heights have met the challenge head on. Our hardworking care teams continue to do a fantastic job providing dedicated support to their residents.

As testament to this, we’ve had twelve members of the team recently celebrating five years of long service. Each team member was presented with a cheque for £500 as a thank you to Rachel Chadwick, Tina Hughes, Andy Jeffcoat, Hannah Park, Zoe Morris, Kay Monckton, Amy Butler, Rebecca Benham, Nicola Hall, Beata Krynichak, Cindy Tan and Malgorzata Glowka.

We also marked the special occasion with an afternoon tea. Receiving her award, care team member Cindy Tan said: “We have been through some tough times but working together as a team makes it all worthwhile. We are stronger together.”

While Zoe Morris said: “Hamble Heights is the best place to work ever and being part of the family makes coming to work a pleasure.”

The happiness and welfare of our residents is at the heart of our culture of care.  Our teams work tirelessly to ensure our residents have continued to enjoy socially-distanced events as well as regular contact with their families by phone or video call during the last few months.

Care can be a demanding job, especially during the unprecedented challenges of coronavirus. It’s important to have a team who are committed and dedicated, but they’ve also got to be supported and feel valued too. It’s about knowing that you’re making a difference and achieving an inner satisfaction. We’re proud to have such a great team at Hamble Heights that are exceeding all expectations.

As a company, we try to make sure that our teams are set up for success in their roles. We’ve got a backbone of staff that have shown dedication and commitment throughout recent events and these people are the role models for existing and new team members. We’re proud to be leading resilient leadership teams that can develop and shape careers.

To make daily life easier for care teams, we’ve also introduced many new benefits and additional supportive measures. These have included delivery of over 400 free food parcels to every team member, improved access to mental wellbeing support and 10% bonus payments.

Emma Pallister, Group Head of HR at Encore commented that the awards are not so much for long service, but as a reward for loyalty. Encore are committed to team retention and growth, which links to loyalty and dedication being the keys to the success of any organisation. We recognise this and take every opportunity to ensure that success is celebrated.
