Residents were given flowers, chocolates, wine and sherry to celebrate the day. We were also very pleased to welcome Rebecca Osborne, a talented local singer, who performed a variety of classic love songs for our residents to dance and sing along to. After Rebecca’s performance, our residents were then treated to a delicious meal, which was prepared by our very own catering team. One of the favourite dishes of the day was the special Valentine’s Day themed cheesecake, which was served in the shape of a heart.
Some of our residents then sat down and read love poems, whilst enjoying afternoon tea. It was lovely hearing our residents pick their favourite poems and share them with everyone else.
At Great Oaks, we always ensure there are a variety of activities planned where our residents can join together and have fun. Another activity some of our residents recently took part in was creating homemade pizzas, to mark National Pizza Day. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed being creative and picking their favourite toppings to put on their bases. The pizzas were cooked in the ovens on each of the floors so it smelt great! Once all of the pizzas were ready, everyone grabbed a slice and enjoyed their Italian creations… they were ‘delizioso’!
