In his new role, Jake will be responsible for the recreational, therapeutic and social aspects of all the residents’ activities inside and outside of the home. He will be tasked with organising daily group and one-to-one activities for residents based on their individual care requirements. Jake will also make arrangements for outside groups and individuals to come into the home on a regular basis to provide entertainment and stimulation, as well as promoting socialisation for residents.

Commenting on his new position, Jake Stansbury said: “Straight away I got a real sense of the genuine nature and compassion from the team at Great Oaks and it instantly felt like the right fit for me. The role will provide me with the opportunity to explore new and exciting avenues for activities and wellbeing at the home.

“I am looking forward to introducing Olympics and bowling leagues at Great Oaks, as well as taking advantage of the fantastic outdoor space and landscaped gardens that the home has to offer for engaging activities. I also have a quiz with a twist up my sleeve, which has always proved popular with residents. I am very passionate about helping to support the wellbeing of our residents, to enrich their lives, boost their energy and increase their engagement levels.”

Sue Harvey, deputy home manager of Great Oaks, added: “We are thrilled to have Jake join our team and are keen for him to implement his knowledge and experience into his new role. His passion for care shone through when we first met him which will greatly benefit our residents and enhance our wellbeing and activities department at Great Oaks.”
