Cupcake Day is celebrated every year and is dedicated to raising awareness and the funds required for the fight against dementia.
Residents, as well as their friends and family, were all welcome to purchase cupcakes at the cake sale, with all proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Society. We also added an extra ‘tier’ to the fun by holding a cake raffle in the afternoon. Our residents had a wonderful, fun-filled day and enjoyed a cupcake (or two!) with the added benefit of donating to a great cause.
In the average time it takes to bake a batch of cupcakes, six people in the UK will develop dementia. Since 2016, Cupcake Day has raised £2.7million for Alzheimer’s Society. We are always happy to support and take part in any fundraising initiatives, especially when it means we get the chance to enjoy a lovely cupcake in the process.
