Easter treats at Great Oaks

The Easter Bunny paid Great Oaks a visit this Easter weekend when Sally and Carla from Tesco in Tower Park, Poole, very generously donated lots of Easter treats to our residents.

We were pleased to have our residents’ family and friends join us over the long weekend for the festivities. After we all tucked into the sweet treats, our residents hand decorated some Easter eggs and used their arts and crafts skills to make Easter cards for their loved ones.

All residents then created bonnets with Easter themed decorations, and took part in a parade so that all of our guests could see their wonderful creations. The wet weather didn’t dampen our spirits and it felt as though spring had finally come with all the brightly coloured bonnets and smiles on our residents’ faces.

Our activities coordinator, Sue Goktas, understands the importance of arts and crafts within the home and these activities have proven health and wellbeing benefits. Our residents always inject their personality into their creations and it is a joy to see.

Our door is always open for visitors who are passing by, and we welcome the opportunity to show them the home and our state-of-the-art facilities.
