Oakdale is the brand new, purpose-built care home from Encore, under construction in Poole. The 84-bed care home is the fourth in our established family of care homes in the South of England. Akin to its other homes, Oakdale will offer the very best nursing, dementia and residential facilities close to local amenities.
The new care home lies just a few minutes’ drive from Poole town centre and Canford Heath. It is situated close to local amenities and recreational outlets.
Retaining its name in tribute, Oakdale care home is being developed in place of derelict public house, The Oakdale. The architectural design has been influenced by an arts and crafts style. The construction takes a traditional build method with cavity block and brick walls, man-made slate roof, timber joist intermediate floors, and a beam and block flooring system are used for the ground floor.
It has been designed to enable staff to provide the highest standard of twenty-four-hour, personalised care and ensure residents are comfortable and happy in their surroundings. Environments full of light and space are health-giving. As such, the architectural design of Oakdale incorporates large windows to its façade and expansive verandas, which will ensure a light and airy space is created throughout the home to promote healthy wellbeing.
All bedrooms are generously sized to create a spacious and bright place for residents to call home. Each will have a private en suite wet-room with movement-triggered lights, adaptable lighting levels and underfloor heating.
Oakdale is due to open in summer 2019.
