Supporting those with dementia to live well
The most important aspect of dementia care is that it should first and foremost be personal.
Our Homes are dedicated to dementia care and we help those with dementia to live well. As such, families can feel reassured that their loved one is in the safest hands and will be cared for as a member of our own extended family.
Every resident is unique. We get to know each resident’s past and their present to create a Care Plan as individual as they are. We consider your loved one’s care needs whilst respecting preferences, lifestyle, interests and routines.
Another crucial element of dementia care is providing a familiar, safe environment that eradicates frustrations and puts you at ease. Encore homes are purpose-built to consider every aspect – from the layout of the building to sensitive décor and interior design.

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust
Encore Care Homes has worked in partnership with University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust since 2015. Encore’s joint venture with the NHS helped to secure NHS services for the community on the Christchurch Hospital site; including a new GP Surgery, a new pharmacy and X-ray facilities, alongside our 80-bed care home, Fairmile Grange.
Most recently, Encore has partnered with University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and the local authority of BCP Council, to assist the NHS locally in the nation’s fight against COVID-19. By taking non-Covid admissions across our homes in Dorset, we alleviated the strain placed on hospital beds and helped the NHS to focus on saving lives.
Care Club is a not-for-profit care agency that was launched to support Encore Care Homes in its partnership with the NHS locally. It provides flexible, trained staff so that Encore can deliver exceptional care. Care Club only provides care to Encore homes in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Fareham. We believe that outstanding care begins with remarkable people – and Care Club is dedicated in nurturing and rewarding its members.
Links with Bournemouth University
As a dementia resource for the community, and in our continued efforts to become a centre of excellence, we work closely with Bournemouth University and are members of the clinical working group. It is our ambition to align our dementia strategy and processes with best practice and cutting-edge research from the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre at Bournemouth University; ensuring we remain at the forefront of clinical excellence.
